Close Up


After doing several projects at school where I have looked mostly at portraits and the facial features in great detail,  I have been able to perfect my techniques of drawing facial features, as looking at them in more detail has enabled me to do so. By blowing up an image to a larger scale, I find it easier to use paints such as acrylic and watercolour as i have a larger space to paint and layer to create more detail. I also find pencil very helpful as the variation of tone and the control of the pencil satisfying and comforting. When a medium such as oil paints throw me off a bit, as they are slightly less predictable.

Similar to my study of lips I have kept mainly to drawing one facial feature, in this instance it is the eye.
